The District of Sooke is preparing for Budget 2027 and the 2027–2031 Five-Year Financial Plan.
Each year, the District updates its financial plan to guide how municipal services, infrastructure, programs, and projects are funded. This process involves balancing community priorities, service expectations, affordability, legislative requirements, and long-term financial sustainability.
Your input helps Council and staff better understand what matters most to residents as the District plans for the year ahead.

Budget decisions affect the services residents rely on every day, including roads, parks and trails, fire rescue, policing, bylaw services, planning and development services, emergency management, infrastructure maintenance, and community programs.
Through the Budget 2027 engagement process, residents, businesses, and community partners are invited to share their perspectives on:
Which municipal services matter most;
How service levels should be balanced with affordability;
Where the District should prioritize investment;
What trade-offs should be considered;
How the District might diversify revenue sources; and
What information would help residents better understand municipal budgeting.
Feedback collected through this process will help inform Council’s discussions as the 2027–2031 Five-Year Financial Plan is developed.
The Budget 2027 survey will be available in June 2026. Please check back to share your input.
