Development Cost Charge Bylaw Update

The District of Sooke is updating Development Cost Charges (DCCs) for transportation and sanitary services and establishing new DCCs for drainage and parkland acquisition & improvement.

This consultation is primarily focused on the developers and home builders currently working in the District of Sooke.

DCCs are fees collected from land developers, on a user-pay basis, to help fund the cost of the new infrastructure and parks needed to service new development. DCCs help ensure developers pay their fair share of the costs required to develop new infrastructure and park improvements. The District has identified transportation, drainage, sanitary and park projects that need to be constructed to support the additional demands generated by new residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional development over the next 20 years.
